About “Our Mistakes”
As EA for Christians grows, we acknowledge that our work sometimes falls short of the standards God has called us to. We have made significant progress toward professionalism and excellence. But we also want to give context on some of the organization’s mistakes, both resolved and unresolved.
Here are some additional motivations for writing this:
To be transparent about our organization’s story and impact.
To acknowledge our mistakes and the ways that they affect others so that we might correct these in the future.
To help you assess whether we have taken appropriate steps.
To support a norm where Christian organizations regularly share their mistakes, in a healthy spirit of repentance, forgiveness, and growth.
This is not an exhaustive list of every problem with EA for Christian’s work.
In particular:
We will cover mistakes starting in 2022, the year I began as the full-time director and we reached official US and UK Charity status.
We will mostly cover mistakes that are relevant to our organization’s external impact as opposed to the impact on our staff team and volunteers.
We will not explain exactly in which ways specific programs were inefficient.
Do not hesitate to contact me regarding this, or fill in this anonymous feedback form.
